INT. ASHER AND CALI’S HOUSE – FINS DREAM
Fins dream begins back at the party, and we see Cali and Fin back on the couch talking.
CALI
(smiles)
Caliope.
Fin looks confused after Cali corrects him.
CALI (CONT’D)
My real name is Caliope.
FIN
Caliope…
He looks at her eyes again dark brown eyes that glow orange.
FIN (CONT’D)
I don’t know if I believe in fate, or real love, but just one conversation with you and I can tell, this is something different. I’ve never felt like this before.
CALI
Me either.
Cali gives him the look and they lean closer and are about to kiss.
Fin here’s a familiar voice.
FINS DAD
She seems great kid.
Fins alarm rings.
CUT TO:
Fins first day of senior year.
Fin wakes up. Fin gets out of bed and gets ready for school.
Fin walks outside dressed and ready where Kyler is waiting on him by his old truck.
KYLER
You ready to get this shit over with?
They do their handshake.
FIN
I thought this day would never come.
KYLER
You know one of these days we’ll get in there and fix your dads old car so you’ll get to drive me around for a change.
They look at an old black dodge charger.
FIN
Yeah, that sounds like a plan.
Fin stares at his phone obviously distracted as he tries to find Cali on Instagram, but nothing is showing up.
On The Ball by Bryce Vine plays as they get in the car..
They arrive at the school and get out ready to get their last first day over with.
BARTHOLOMEW
Guys! It’s senior year, do you know what this means?!
FIN
That the underclassmen are starting to look like they need permission slips to be here?
A group of freshmen walk by carrying lunch boxes, played by 10-year-olds.
BARTHOLOMEW
No! This is the year I get Emily Carter to be my girlfriend.
EMILY (18 Pretty, Popular, Nice)
KYLER
YOU ARE GONNA ASK EMILY CARTER TO BE YOUR GIRLFRIEND! She’s even out of my league. No offense.
BARTHOLOMEW
None taken. I sat next to her on the bus today! I think she wants a piece of the Bart.
Fin and Kyler exchange a look and the flashback begins of Barts morning
FLASHBACK BEGINS:
Bart gets on the bus and looks for a place to sit but notices all of them are full, he looks around and starts to turn red because he doesn’t know where to go.
Emily locks eyes with him and scoots over making room for Bart, Bart tries not to shit himself.
EMILY
You’re Bart right?
BARTHOLOMEW
(Awkwardly)
Um yes ma’am. Um I mean yes, you would be correct, Emily.
EMILY
Didn’t I cheer with your sister?
BARTHOLOMEW
No, I don’t have a sister.
Silence.
EMILY
Oh, well isn’t your brother on the football team?
BARTHOLOMEW
…No, I don’t have a brother, my parents had me and said yup that’s enough of that.
EMILY
Oh.
They sit in awkward silence and then the flashback ends
BARTHOLOMEW
It was amazing! She totally gave me the look.
KYLER
Then what did she say?
BARTHOLOMEW
That was it.
FIN
The bus ride from your house is like 20 minutes.
BARTHOLOMEW
Yeah, I think we just really enjoyed breathing in each others air, there wasn’t much need for words Awkward silence.
FIN
That’s great Bart.
BARTHOLOMEW
Maybe, I’ll invite her to my party this weekend, you guys will be there, right?
FIN
Ugh, I don’t know I really need to Stu-
KYLER
Of course we’ll be there! Fin still has to find his mystery girl, right Fin?
FIN
I don’t know man, it’s starting to feel like a lost cause.
KYLER
How would you feel if you didn’t go to Bart’s party, you stayed home and studied, and your mystery girl ends up meeting her future husband that night, when it could have been you.
FIN
That sounds horrible
KYLER
See, we will be there.
BARTHOLOMEW
Good, you guys are literally the only ones coming so far, I want you guys to meet Fido, my parents made me get a mental health pet since they’ve been gone so much with work.
KYLER
Don’t worry Bart, I’ll make sure everyone knows that your place is the move this weekend.
BARTHOLOMEW

FIN
Later Bart!
The two leave Bart and make their way into the school. Fin opens the door and everything slows down.
He makes eye contact with a girl from the end of the hall when their eyes meet he goes back to the night of the party and knows that this girl is Cali, even though she was wearing a costume.
She has the same brown eyes, and he would recognize them anywhere.
FIN AND KYLER TOGETHER
Whoa.
The two stare off into space.
KYLER
Dibs.
Kyler walks over to Cali not knowing she is Fin’s mystery girl from the party.
Fin just freezes and stares in shock speechless.
KYLER (CONT’D)
I never forget a face so you must be new here.
CALI
Good observation Sherlock.
KYLER
You know if you need help finding your classes or if you need anyone to sit with at lunch I-
CALI
I’m sorry, you seem nice, but I’m not looking for a new friend I just want to focu-
KYLER
Who said anything about friends, I’ve got enough friends.
Cali looks at him surprised by his charm.
CALI
(grins)
Hmm, well I could actually use some help finding my first hour.
KYLER
Let me see… Oh you’ve got Mrs. Baker’s first hour too, here let me walk you there.
CALI
Okay, what’s your name?
KYLER
I’m Kyler.
CALI
(smiles)

The two walk together around the corner while Fin still stands there, the hallway now empty.
He puts on his headphones and walks to his class, the halls are empty as he really feels alone.

Zeke bumps into Fin.
ZEKE
Fin? C’mon we saved you a seat.
Fin gives a fake smile and enters the classroom, shutting the door as the bell rings.
